Procrastination

Procrastination: We are all familiar with this word, but what does it mean, and how do you conquer it…

In psychology, procrastination refers to the act of replacing high-priority actions with tasks of lower priority, or doing something from which one derives enjoyment, and thus putting off important tasks to a later time.

In accordance with Freud, the Pleasure principle (psychology) may be responsible for procrastination; humans do not prefer negative emotions and handing off a stressful task until a further date is enjoyable.

The concept that humans work best under pressure provides additional enjoyment and motivation to postponing a task. Some psychologists cite such behavior as a mechanism for coping with the anxiety associated with starting or completing any task or decision.

Wow, most of those definitions point right to me. I am the biggest procrastinator on the planet, just ask my family. I always tell them that I do my best work under pressure and that is why I always wait till the last minute.

Procrastination is a very hard behavior to overcome. You have to discipline yourself and assign daily tasks so you don’t wind up at the end of your deadline cramming as if you were about to take your final exams in high school.

At the beginning of my career I worked diligently with the help of my mentor on assigning myself to write two emails a day and one blog per day, along with all the other pieces it takes to run an online business…

Let’s just say that at the time it was still a work in progress.
For you like many others this will be hard but you have to hold yourself accountable. Also, what worked best for me was being held accountable by my mentor.

I was given weekly updates and they held me to my tasks. We also had group coaching too where we would all check in with each other and once you post in the group what you are going to do, they would all hold you to it.

You can beat this thing called procrastination and it all comes down to “Actually Knowing What To Do”!

Yes and I’ll be here to help you get clear on what exactly it is YOU NEED to do everyday in your online business in order to start turning the wheels of success. You only need to do a handful of things every day in your business to see success. These could be:

  1. Building your lists
  2. Creating a blog post
  3. Creating a video
  4. Creating content
  5. Writing an email out to your lists etc etc

Sound simple enough? Good and if you’re now wondering what are steps to make this all possible then you need to keep opening my emails every single day so you don’t miss anything important to your success.

Until next day 🙂
